On October 23, 2023, at New World Saigon Hotel, THE LAM LAW LLC attended the Loseby Lecture 2023 Conference with the topic “The long history of International legal regulations and The Rule of Law”. The conference was organized by British Chamber Of Commerce Vietnam and sponsored by Dragon Capital.

Loseby Lecture is an annual series of lectures aimed at creating a space to share knowledge about international law between experts, lawyers, researchers and students from Vietnam and the UK. This year’s lecture on the long history of International Legal Relations and the Rule of Law, was presented by Professor Fernanda Pirie, Center for Socio-Legal Research, Oxford University, UK.

Professor Fernanda Pirie briefly reviewed milestones in the historical development of human society associated with the birth of the most ancient laws and the formation of today’s modern international institutions. By providing different approaches throughout her lecture, Professor Fernanda Pirie pointed out the usefulness of establishing a system of principles of conduct that including the responsibilities of countries, transnational organizations on global issues such as humanitarian, conflicts in every level… In addition, the lecture also shed light on the reasons that people have long considered, and still consider, they have obligations to comply with such laws.
