THE LAM is pleased to introduce the article on the topic “The legal practitioner in the era of digital transformation”.

Decision 749/QĐ-TTG in 03/6/2020 of the prime minister approves the “Program for national Digital Transformation by 2025, orientations towards 2030” become a significant milestone in positioning Vietnam as one of the fist countries in the World enacts program about national Digital Transformation.

Therefore, documents series of ministries established to accelerate Digital Transformation process according to the orientations established by the Party and the State; many sectors and professions was quickly applied digital technology to optimize process of work, management, operation and to enhance efficiency.

However, when sectors such as finance banking, healthcare, education, and logistics significantly progressed in the Digital Transformation process, the legal practitioners seem to have not caught up with this trend. This only really changed after epidemic COVID-19 impacted. The epidemic has pushed organizations and individuals, including lawyer and legal practitioners, to gradually become familiar with remote working, communicating and providing services to clients through digital platforms. COVID-19 indeed to be a catalyst for legal practitioners to carry out the Digital Transformation process.

The legal practitioners are facing tremendous challenges and opportunities in the era Digital Transformation. To adapt to this trend, lawyer need to improve the professional ability, technology knowledge and innovate professional activities. At the same time, lawyer must always aware that Digital Transformation is inevitable trend that needed to adapt and proceed quickly if they do not want to be left behind.
