INTRODUCTION

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Hoang is a distinguished economist and legal scholar with over 20 years of academic and professional experience in international trade, investment, and dispute resolution.

He currently serves as Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Van Lang University, and as an Arbitrator at the Ho Chi Minh City Commercial Arbitration Center (TRACENT).

At THE LAM LAW, Dr. Hoang acts as Senior Advisor, offering strategic insights into international economic law, corporate governance, and cross-border dispute resolution, especially in sectors such as oil & gas, logistics, and international commerce.

Dr. Hoang earned his Ph.D. in International Economics and Trade Relations from the Foreign Trade University (FTU), and was conferred the title Associate Professor in Economics in 2017. He completed advanced research training at Michigan State University (USA) in Research Methodology.

As a recognized scholar, Dr. Hoang is the author or co-author of more than 60 scientific papers and 9 specialized books, many of which are indexed in Scopus and ISI journals. His publications address key topics such as WTO dispute settlement, EVFTA/CPTPP implications for Vietnam, and the evolution of global trade law.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Hoang has provided training and consultancy for major enterprises, including PetroVietnam Group, Samsung Vietnam, Gemadept Shipping, Hyosung, and business associations such as VCCI and VASEP, focusing on international contracts, trade law, and negotiation strategies.
