“Proposed Amendments to the Rules on the Formation of Arbitral Tribunals and Introduction of the VIAC eCase Platform in Commercial Arbitration Proceedings.”

⚖️ Key highlights discussed during the session:

• Strengthening transparency in the formation of arbitral tribunals and mandatory disclosure obligations for arbitrators;
• Allowing parties to appoint arbitrators outside the VIAC list, provided sufficient qualifications are demonstrated;
• Introducing stricter rules on independence, impartiality, and potential conflicts of interest;
• New fee schedules proposed for challenges to arbitrators, including filing fees, case handling fees, and compensation for prior work conducted by the challenged arbitrator.
